Where the heck has Liz been?

September and October are a whirlwind of fun and inspiration from the MPI – New Jersey Chapter to the Professional Developers of Iowa in Council Bluffs!
MPI New Jersey:

First of all, I have to say there is NOTHING much better than being set up by a group of meeting planners!  Special thanks to Rhonda Moritz for making my experience to the East coast nothing short of fantastic.

Our topic:  The 1440 Principle.  It’s not really time management as much as it is LIFE MANAGEMENT.  Congratulations, you have an amazing resource to utilize, strategize and invest every day.  What are you doing with your minutes?

Quick tip:  When someone asks you for money, you are empowered with a set of options: Yes, No, Maybe, Later, and so on.  When someone asks you for time, are you equally empowered?

2012 Annual State SHRM Conference

I have to say, it is fun to engage a group of Human Resource Professionals.  They are probably one of the only groups who really focuses on how to enhance human connection and it inspired me!

Our Topic:  Finding your game and increasing your bench strength.  You were born with a game you can play better than anyone else and when you learn to define, access and master that game you will find true success.  Spotting and leveraging the strengths of others is the other part of the equation!

Quick tip:  Every human interaction is a combination of perspectives and choices.  What can they see and what will they choose as a result?  Productivity over connection?  Connection over completion?

PDI Fall Conference in Council Bluffs

Lori Holste signed up for a 30 day challenge almost a year ago and her infectious energy and humble spirit was contagious.  I have to thank her for bringing me in to speak to the motivated visionaries that make up the Professional Developers of Iowa.

Our topic:  Driving the technology that is driving you.  Technology was meant to be a tool that made us more connected, informed and productive.  Now we need to learn to control it and make it work for us.

Quick Tip:  You don’t have to return every call, e-mail or text within 60 seconds or receiving it.  Try to create space during the day for your technology.  Let people know when you will return their request.  Ask them to call you if it’s urgent.

LOMA Society Seminar

I enjoyed two treats with the LOMA? group, the fall weather at beautiful Mahoney State Park and a rare chance to present all four key Nead Inspiration presentations (The 1440 Principle, Creating Inspired Vision, Finding Your Game and Building a Rockstar Network).  The group was all in for entire day of inspiration with non-stop questions and comments!

Our Topic:  Just choosing from one, Building a Rockstar Network, focuses on translating the keys to success that have always existed in networking into a new world of technology and constant networking events.

Quick Tip:  Rockstar networking requires you to a) be yourself and b) be truly interested in others.  If you hide yourself or feign interest, you’ll end up in a unsustainable networking situation.  Keep it real!

If you want to book Liz for an engagement, send her a message right now!  You won’t regret it!
