Thank you for the opportunity to work with you, the Iowa Clinic Finance Team. I applaud your willingness to participate and engage as a group. With the number of Berts and Oscars in the room, I was impressed with the sharing, “acting” (really funny!) and takeaways expressed from each of you. Special gratitude to Lisa for mentioning my name, David for taking on the challenge and hiring me, Lisa and Natalie for their insight during the planning process and Briana for take such good care of us!

It’s my hope you have already put at least one of the strategies to use today.

Just remember, you can’t change people. It’s even difficult to alter your own basic personality. What you CAN do is to understand what drives others’ behavior and use strategies to approach them from their strongest position. When they know you care about what is important to them, you create a bridge of effectiveness, productivity and efficiency. Who doesn’t want that?
